General Purpose SSD v2 (GP SSD v2) was introduced recently for Elastic Volume Service – now we’re making it available as “Flexible SSD” to power your database!
Flexible SSD introduces a new level of flexibility by allowing capacity, IOPS, and throughput to be configured independently. By decoupling storage capacity from performance, Flexible SSD enables customers to scale storage resources according to workload requirements while optimizing both performance and cost efficiency.

Important Note: To use Flexible SSD via API please set the IOPS and Throughput parameters manually as described in our API reference. Terraform support is not yet available and is currently planned for Q1/2027. Further information will be provided soon.
