We would like to inform you that Common I/O disk type will be decommissioned on 31.12.2026.
This means that customers, who are still using this disk type, should plan their migration as soon as possible. To support this transition, we offer a disk type change functionality that enables you to migrate your existing Common I/O disks to another disk type. Customers who are still using the old HDD (Common I/O) volume type in their CCE clusters via PersistentVolumeClaims (PVCs), also need to plan a migration to a supported storage type. Therefore, we have also compiled a detailed description.

The detailed procedure of migrating from SFS Capacity Oriented resp. Common I/O to General Purpose File System (GP FS), has been also described and published.

As part of the planned EOL activities for the SFS Common I/O, please be informed that since September 2026, the creation of new SFS Common I/O shares is no longer possible, including API.
Please be also informed that a description for migrating existing RDS Common I/O disks to another disk type will be available soon. Further details will be communicated in due course.
